Hi,

First of all, my German is not so good, therefore I am trying in English, so please have mercy on me. :hmpf:
I am trying to find suitable steel to forge blades in the Japanese style. For that I need shallow hardening steel.
So far, I haven't been able to find a company that can sell me suitable steel in the Netherlands. So, I am trying here hoping that someone in Germany knows a company that can sell me suitable steel.
I know sites like Messermacherbedarf, Stahl Becker, Dick and Pauly Stahlhandel, but they don't have good steel either: to much Manganese or to thin (3mm or less)

Does anyone know a German supplier where I can find steel like CK50, CK60, CK67, CK70, CK75, CK80 or even better C70W1, C80W1 or C85W1?

dankje voor het aanbod, voorlopig red ik me prima, maar ik zal het onthouden. :hmpf:
Ik ken Dick maar geen van zijn stalen zijn geschikt voor het soort zwaard wat ik wil maken. zijn staal is wel "Japans staal" maar is niet het staal wat voor Nihonto, oftewel traditionele japanse zwaarden word gebruikt. of het heeft te veel mangaan, of veel te veel koolstof of allebei, of het is al gelaagd etc.
ik zoek simpel koolstof staal binnen de grenzen die ik al aangaf.
