Alohallo ALL,

Thanks anson for threading this. So um...what is everyone saying about these?

I am very nervous right now...SHOT Show should be completed already...now to see how well these were "accepted".*gulp*.

Mahalo much all, and God bless!
Chad:super:

Hello Chad,
So far they (and me) liked your new designs and we are curious about the ergonomics of the big folder, because of this "subhilt" and the size of the Keycom.
And most important: When will it be available!?

Personally, I could imagine the Keycom with a fully serrated blade, like Spyderco makes on the Ladybug and Jester models. That would probably improve cutting abilities on such a short blade (and make it look like a chihuahua on steroids..cute in a strange way, but aggressive).

The edited fixed Subcom makes me think about buying it at last. The classic versions I saw to this day often had problems with rust on its bead-blasted surface, which was a reason for me not to buy it. But this new coated version looks very nice. Good Job!

Greetings,
Daniel

Aloha Chad

I like the new little black fixed number 3 from the present pictures. This one will meet my Subcoms next time.
Hope we see more knifes from you:super:

hi,
the keycom is a definitive must have, and i cant wait to see the ergonomis of the direct. looks great. so far

Sorry, I can´t tell about availabilities at the moment, for I´m still on my business trip, but I´ll check and be back with the info soon.

Regarding the knives: I have to admit that I was a little sceptical with the ergonomics of thgis very straight design of the "Direkt".

But as soon as I handled the first proto, I realized that those are not "ergonomics", but more the well establishled "chad-o-nomics". :D

The knife feels great in the hand, is again (after the M-Type) a fullsize folder, and the proto I carry at the moment gets only positive feedback. :super:

So, Chad, I think there´s no reason to be nervous. :p

I had no idea of the Keycom's size so I made a 1:1 scale model out of paper and cardboard. (For cutting I used the pictured Subcom, of course! ;) Sorry for the rough edges.)
At least I hope that it's a 1:1 scale model because I summed up handle and blade length to get the overall lenght. In some cases this might not be accurate enough because one never knows from which point the blade has been measured.
Since my cardboard model has a blade length of approximately 1 1/2" and a handle lenght of approximately 2 1/4" I think the model is quite accurate in size.

Here are some comparison pics. The Victorinox is a Classic SD.

Edit: Grad ne Mail bekommen: voraussichtlicher Liefertermin: Mitte Mai :(
